Another day, another TikTok trend.
Inspired by Kim Kardashian’s full-on glam passport photo, travelers have been going overboard with makeup for their passport images. TikTok breathlessly recommends concealer, contouring, fox-eyes, and brows held in place with styling glue.

One ‘influencer’ warned in her TikTok video that she was almost stopped from getting on her flight because her chic, over-done passport photo didn’t look anything like her. (See: main image.)
“This is why you should never do hot photos for your passport,” influencer Alisha Marie warned in a now-viral TikTok.
Better to “look like a swamp rat,” one travel agent suggested after a TikTok trend gone awry.
According to federal regulations, passport photos must be an ‘accurate likeness’ of the traveler. And — who knew? — the rules for passports are stricter than for driver’s licenses.
Think natural expression, no filters and for god’s sake, make sure it looks like you!
