In the closing statements, House Impeachment Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin dramatically wrapped up their impeachment case against the former President, arguing that if  the Senate acquits Donald Trump, he could come back into political power and act exactly the same way:

‘Is there any political leader in this room who believes that if he is ever allowed by the Senate to get back into the Oval Office, Donald Trump would stop inciting violence to get his way?,’ Rep. Jamie Raskin asked.

‘Trump knew exactly what he was doing and inciting the January 6 mob. Exactly,’ he added. ‘He had just seen how easily his words and actions inspire violence in Michigan. He sent a clear message to his supporters. He encouraged planning and conspiracies to take over capitol buildings on threaten public officials who refused to bow down to his political will.’

Now it’s time for Trump’s ace defense team to make their closing arguments but they are not expected to take up the entire two days, meaning that the trial could finish as early as Saturday.
