Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, an American federal holiday marking the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which is around King’s birthday, January 15. The leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement, he made his famous “I Have a Dream” n August 28, 1963, in which he calls for an end to racism in the United States, something that this country still struggles with today.
