UNITED STATES – FEBRUARY 19: Washington, D.C., area students protest against gun violence outside of the White House on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, after 17 people were killed in a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., last week. (Photo By Bill Clark/CQ Roll Call)

In the days following the carnage of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, President Trump instead choose to blame the victims and the FBI for ignoring signs that the shooter was mentally ill — and once again made it about — wait for it — himself.

On Saturday, Trump tweeted:

“Very sad that the FBI missed all of the many signals sent out by the Florida school shooter. This is not acceptable. They are spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign – there is no collusion. Get back to the basics and make us all proud!”

An angry student tweeted the perfect response :
“17 of my classmates are gone. That’s 17 futures, 17 children, and 17 friends stolen. But you’re right, it always has to be about you. How silly of me to forget. #neveragain”
These same students are taking the protest nationwide, in a national school walkout and march in Washington.
