Meet six-month-old baby elephant Clear Sky, a Thai pacaderm who injured her foot in a snare, but was immediately treated at an animal hospital a few hours from Bangkok, and started on a brand-new hydrotherapy treatment.

With the water exercises, the vets hope to strengthen the withered muscles in her left front leg, so she will not need an artifical leg as she matures and puts on weight.

Normally elephants love water but in these photos she is just getting used to the strange sensation. Vets report she’ll soon relish her daily dip.

Six month-old Clear Sky, who lost part of her foot in a trap, is rehabilitated with hydrotherapy.
