In one of the ugliest, racist acts to come out of the Trump election win, a Pamela Ramsey Taylor, a nonprofit group director from Clay, West Virginia, wrote about First Lady Michelle Obama on Facebook ,“It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady back in the White House,’ adding“I’m tired of seeing a Ape in heels.”
Just as bad, Clay’s mayor, Beverly Whaling, responded to Taylor’s post with praise, writing: “Just made my day Pam.”
Taylor was quickly fired after the blatantly racist remarks and thousands have signed an online petition to have both women terminated from their positions. As of Tuesday morning, the petition has garnered more than 100,000 signatures.
