Last night, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) kicked off with — what else? — a party at the Soho House Toronto. GREY GOOSE Vodka co-hosted the exclusive party with Hollywood producer Michael Sugar, whose latest film ‘The Fifth Estate’ received its premiere at the Festival the same evening.
A sauve Benedict Cumberbatch (“Sherlock” to many of us), held court, talking about the new film based on WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange, while fellow cast mates Alicia Vikander, Daniel Brühl, Carice van Houten and Dan Stevens mingled with the crowd. Additional notables who stopped by the House throughout the evening included Colin Hanks, Paul Giamatti, Michael Fassbender, Tom Welling and director Steve McQueen.
As is tradition, Grey Goose created cocktails especially for the festival (we’ll have one of those recipes for our TGIF.)
And this is as good a time as any to announce that Benedict Cumberbatch will be honored at the The British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA) with the Britannia Award for British artist of the year on the November 9th Awards. Previous winners include Daniel Craig, Kate Winslet and Michael Sheen. Jolly good job!
