Last year 155 aid workers were killed, 171 were seriously wounded and 134 were kidnapped, according to the research by Humanitarian Outcomes.
Today, in honor of World Humanitarian Day, famed DJ David Guetta has partnered with the United Nationals to bring attention to all the heroes who volunteer to help the less fortunate.
Working with United Nations Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon (pictured above) Guetta has created a video, encouraging people to help raise money for food, water and supplies and celebrate the humanitarian workers who risk their lives daily.
In addition musician (and former Child Soldier) Emannuel Jal is also working to promote the cause. (Jai will be seen in Reese Witherspoon’s next big movie “The Good Lie” which is about South Sudan and the crises in the region and Emmanuel’s life).
