Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn star in Snatched, a caper/buddy film—and for those who are gender bias, a chick flick.

The plot: when an awkward, lazy girl (Schumer) is dumped by her BF and can’t find anyone to share her non-refundable vacation, she begs her uptight mom (Hawn) to go with her.

In general, the film is laced with laughs and the adventure picks up steam when the duo are kidnapped on their Ecuadorian adventure, but those laughs are uneven and the story moves from somewhat plausible to ridiculous… snatching 97 minutes from my life.

Hawn was blurry and I don’t mean her character, I mean her face. The director seemed to borrow Doris Day’s lens filter for several shots and it looked like a mistake.

I wanted to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the silliness of Snatched, but the film plunged in to Dumb and Dumber territory, and if that’s your thing, pack a bowl…you will love this movie.

Schumer had me in Trainwreck, I laughed my head off, but Snatched doesn’t work —and poor Hawn, she just looked lost and blurry in her lackluster role.

Snatched also stars Ian Barinholtz, Joan Cusack, Wanda Sykes, and Christopher Meloni.
