This morning Miley Cyrus told Ryan Seacrest on his KISS-FM Radio show that she spent a week in the hospital because she had a severe allergic reaction to medication to treat the flu. She posted the photo of herself with a duck oxygene mask on her Instagram page.
“I’m doing good, much better, happy to be on the phone with you guys,” Miley told Ryan and Ellen K. “So basically I had gotten sick while I was on the road,” she explained. After taking some doctor-prescribed medication for the flu, “On the sixth day, I just woke up … it was so scary … I had basically been poisoning myself with something I didn’t know I was really scary allergic to.”
After spending one night in the hospital, she returned to her tour, only to fall ill again the next morning and have to go back to the hospital a second time. “It was insane.,” she adds.” I was begging the doctors, ‘Let me out to go do the show!’ It was basically no way.” Miley, who is allergic to penicillin (although that’s not what she was given), added she was most upset about “not being out on the road. I would feel good … [and ask doctors] ‘Can I go? Can I get back on the stage?’ That was the hardest part.”
After being in a hospital ward for almost a week, Miley says it’s inspired her to get more involved with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. “I’m actually so excited to get more involved and help more of the kids … It’s such an intense situation. I don’t know how these kids do this.”
The singer reports she “can’t wait” to get back on the Bangerez tour.
