Just in: The N.Y. Times is reporting that Flynn, the president’s former national security advisor pleaded guilty Friday to lying to the F.B.I. about conversations with the Russian Ambassador.
In a statement, Michael Flynn said he will provide ‘full cooperation’ to Special Counsel Robert Mueller in his Russia probe.
‘My guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the special counsel’s office reflect a decision I made in the best interest of my family and of our country. I accept full responsibility for my actions,’ Flynn said.
What does this mean? In a nutshell, it brings the prosecution this much closer to the man in charge, President Trump. If, as surmised, Trump ordered Flynn to talk to the Russians, then Mueller is close to getting his prey.
