Hurricane Irma slammed into the Caribbean islands with 185mph winds as it heads towards the US east coast.
The Red Cross said it is preparing for ‘a major humanitarian response’ after ‘extremely worrying’ forecasts. Hurricane Irma is on track to be the most powerful hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic.
