Frida is a goofy, lovable Lab — and a hero rescue dog with the Mexican navy’s Canine Unit. During her career, the 7-year-old Labrador has detected 52 people — 12 alive — in various natural disasters.

She’s now been drafted to help find survivors after Mexico’s 7.1 earthquake which so far has killed more than 270 people.

Although fifteen dogs have been deployed to search for people in Mexico City, perhaps none have as many Twitter admirers as Frida. Last week, the Navy tweeted the collage you see above of Frida at work which got more than 4,000 retweets and nearly 7,000 likes. In a time that has seen so many natural disasters, Frida is seen as a beacon of hope.
