It’s been a long time since Dr. Dre’s 1992’s triple-platinum hit “The Chronic,” but the in-demand producer just announced that’s he’s finally releasing his next album.

On his radio show ‘Dr. Dre’s The Pharmacy’, that his new album,‘ Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre ‘ was “inspired,”  by “Straight Outta Compton,” director F. Gary Gray’s film charting the ascent of Dr. Dre’s late-’80s L.A. rap group, N.W.A.

“Compton,” due exclusively on Apple Music and iTunes (no surprise),  includes appearances by a range of West Coast veterans — such as Ice Cube, Xzibit and Snoop Dogg,as well as younger upstarts such as  including Kendrick Lamar. Eminem, Jill Scott and BJ the Chicago Kid. The album is set to come out Friday, one week before the movie hits theatres.
