It was a glamorous night at the CFDA Fashion Awards, the Oscars of the fashion world, but w-a-y before they hit the red carpet, months of preparation go into creating the perfect gown. We went behind the scenes with American icon Nicole Miller to view the process.
Miller’s model was Belarusian Zhenya Katava, so she started with a sketch (above.) While Miller was at it, she designed herself a little number, but nothing that would distract from the statement gown Katava would wear.
On the night, at the Hammerstein Ballroom, all eyes were on the gowns and Miller’s striking designs won enviable praise.
