For those who wish they were sipping cocktails while taking in the magical lights of Paris, there’s a little gem of a spot right here in L.A. that has everything but the Eiffel Tower.

Recently, we sampled the new cocktail menu at Riviera 31 (in the Sofitel hotel) , with bar bites by esteemed chef Chef Marius Blin and Sous Adrian Hosche and a new muddled cocktails by mixologist Ferrari Watts.

For small plates imagine Cream of Garlic Mac and Cheese, Garlic Mushroom Flatbread, Lobster Corn Soft Taco, Miso Roasted Califlower Gratin, and Charred Brussel Spouts. (The Garlic Mac and Cheese was the winner hands down. )

Designed by Kayat Designs, Riviera 31 takes visitors on a visual journey through the  history of the French Riviera, with it’s rich red hues, overstuffed chairs and couches and 1950s and 1960s black and white photography of the Riviera lifestyle.

But in true Angeleno fashion, there’s a lovely patio where guests can enjoy the afternoon sun or socialize under the stars at night.

Our favorite of Ferrari’s new cocktails :

2 oz Pisco

1.25 oz Simple Syrup

1 oz Lemon Juice

1 oz Prickly Pear Puree

1 oz Red Wine  Float (Use Melot)

1 Dash of Hell Fire bitters

Method: Shake ingredients and strain over ice ball, pour the red wine over the ice ball.

Glass: Rocks Glass
